SYDNEY SOJOURN PART 1

Two Red Cardinals flew to Sydney to hang out with our son for a few days.
This was Bondi.  I love the smell of the salt air and those rugged headlands poking out into the sea all along the Sydney coast.

We enjoyed fish and chips at the beach...

We played my favourite board game Settlers of Catan.
Smart Son won twice.
Which seems only fitting as he was an excellent host, and gave up his fantastically comfy King Size Bed for his aged parents.

We wandered through the weekend Markets of Glebe...

and visited the Shrine of San Churro.

A churro, sometimes referred to as a Spanish doughnut, is a fried-dough pastry-based snack.

Their chocolate display was spectacular!

We didn't really notice that it was raining most of the weekend!
Such a relief after last week's heatwave.

Part 2, coming later... Bye for now ..

  1. Sydney is my home town Patricia and it took us a long time to accept crumbed fish over the battered variety we grew up with lol.
Even though I've lived in Brisbane for many years I still feel a strong connection to Sydney. Odd isn't it?
So glad you enjoyed a lovely weekend with your beloved son.

  2. Ah, Annie, a Sydney girl at heart! Totally understand your strong connection; it is such a vibrant place, like Australia's Big Apple I think. Our daughter lived there 10 years and I went down all the time, and love it.
Crumbed fish really has taken over in Queensland, although we only knew battered fish when I was a child, and did enjoy the Bondi diet buster!
