Hi there,
Today I went to the movie Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel ..
I love, Love, LOVED IT!!
Her life covered all the great style eras of the 20th Century,
from the Belle Epoque to the 80s.
And she was there interpreting and living it, in the most glamourous way!
She was an adviser to my idol, Jacqueline Kennedy, in the White House years.
Which gives her extra kudos from me.
My favourite quote:
"Imagine a world without Leopard!
Who'd want to live in it??"
Who indeed ...
Her apartment on the Upper East Side was decorated entirely in red.
She was interviewed there, and I wanted to pause the film just to look around the room.
Soooo Dramatic!
Afterwards, we wound down with a visit to Magnolia - love that shop ...
where I bought a cool summer shirt,
which matches the jeans I bought in Sydney last Sunday...
Our Agapanthus are blooming again.
Goody..
They offer big impact in return for total neglect.
Good plants.
Hope your week is a winner ...

Hello Val, the red was Incredible and very exciting and stimulating. My girlfriends and I wanted to go home and replicate it all! Glad you like my roses, which have finally got some buds this week, after last weekend's rain. Hope for new rose photos coming soon :)
DeleteP.
I'd like to see that movie, I think she was quite a fascinating person. I'm contemplating some kind of leopard print footwear. I'll probably chicken out and end up with socks. That shirt is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a perfect movie for a Sulky Kitten - Diana was quite the personality! Leopard socks? I like your thinking.
DeleteThe movie sounds interesting. I like stories about real life people and I'm sure her live was exciting/unusual/interesting.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Hi Darla, her life was all those things, she was a fascinating lady.
DeleteI must have lived in the bushes, as the first time ever, I´ve heard of Ms. DV, has been on a blog.
ReplyDeleteUnlike you (;, I find the red room not to my liking at all.
But I´m happy for you, that you enjoyed the movie and had a nice day.
The shirt matches well with your new pants : ).
Hellow Mette, you know if I actually had the red room, I would find it exciting for about 10 minutes, then I would probably run away, back to the white I usually prefer! Tried the shirt and pants last night, and am very happy with the cool summer look.
DeleteSounds a fascinating movie. Love your flowers! Suzy x
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun movie, but best seen with girlfriends. Flowers say thankyou!
DeleteWhat a cute blouse - have to remind myself that as the US heads into Winter, you are starting your Summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beryl, cool colours work well. We try to get away to a cooler climate during our very long summer, just to get a break from the heat.
DeleteOh Patricia, I will be on the lookout for this movie. It sounds like something I would love too. Thanks for letting us know about it!
ReplyDeleteIn an idea world, I'd spend the next six months on your hemisphere, then come back to the USA just in time for Spring and Summer here. What kind of a job would require it? Hmm? : )
If you like fashion and style, you will probably like this movie!
DeleteNot so sure about an endless summer; I like a cool change myself, and am dreaming of being over there on our hottest days :)
I want to see that movie. Our family room is painted red and has one wall in brick. I love the room; it is where we often spend our evenings. But for the other rooms, I want the walls white. I have never grown Agapanthus but MUST get some bulbs next summer. Yours are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteAaaah - you have ze Vreeland style, Sanda!! Very chic to have red plus brick. I think you might enjoy the movie.
DeleteYes, finish the leopard coat, please! We'd love to see it. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine a world without animal prints. I love the print on the blouse you purchased. It is so soft and appealing.
ReplyDeleteAnimal prints are fun. I remember Audrey Hepburn, Jackie, and others, all looking very chic in leopard. Glad you like the shirt, the soft green is summery and pretty.
