A NEW PRINCE

Substitute baby: our Little Bebe grandson as a newborn..
We are Blue!
A little Prince has been born to Prince William and Catherine in London...

Now they are a family...and we wish them every happiness with their new baby boy...

Did they know?  We'll never know...
but I always wondered about the blue baby stroller Kate purchased a while ago...

Sending Blue-birds of Happiness

and drinking a toast in English tea to the new Heir to the Throne...

And now the fun of name-guessing:

Many people think George ... but why?  Is it time for a King George VII?

Philip, Henry, Edward or Charles are some of the names I think could be favoured...

Won't it be fun watching him grow, and considering who he resembles?
Just like our own grandsons ...

And this is where we have been this week:

More later ...

  1. Hi Patricia, love all of the images you have here, especially the ones of the beach. I feel like it has been such a grey winter here, not at all like the winters we are used to with endless blue skies - so it is nice to see you got some sun. Isn't the royal baby exciting, I can't wait to hear what his name will be xxx

    1. Yes, such a grey winter Fifi, and I too miss the lovely blue skies. It was lovely to get some sun, but other days were wet and dull in Cairns. Exciting re baby - and I wonder what Kate will wear to go home? xxx

  2. At first I thought you had THE picture that we are all waiting to see. I imagined he would be a she - but I now predict his name to be George - H thinks James.
With these tempting beach shots of Cairns I look forward to seeing more.

    1. Aha, my ruse worked!! It is quite convenient to have our own recent baby boy photos to hand.. George seems to be the outright favourite name, in Australia also. I'm sure we will know very soon.
More photos from our northern excursion coming up!

  3. Of course he will be gorgeous - there are some good-looking genes going on there! Gone even colder here too - weather is nuts these days..

    1. A short but very pleasant trip to the tropical paradise - back to reality now!
The cup and saucer were a gift from a special friend, and I don't know where she found them - I love them very much, of course :)
      xx

  5. At last we know the royal baby is a boy. I think it would be hard to have so many people watching and waiting but I suppose they are used to it. I await the news of the name.

    1. I have been thinking that too, Darla. It must put them under a lot of pressure being constantly under scrutiny, but this pair seem to be coping with it. I know I would hate it! Just saw them on TV and William saying they are still working on the name...

  7. Lovely blue touches in your post; darling baby boy as well! Had thought the royal baby would be a girl, but I was wrong! Hope your trip to the beach was fun, fun, fun!

    1. A bit of fun finding blue things to photograph, Sanda. What a sweet little boy; just saw them on TV leaving hospital and the little hand going up in a tiny baby wave. Priceless!
      Tropical beaches are always special..

  8. You were very smart to pick up on the hint of the blue stroller. I had it in my head that the royal baby would be a girl, so have had to do some mental adjusting. I think was stuck on it being a girl since I knew ahead of time that is what my son and his wife were expecting. :-)

    1. I would have liked a girl, if only to break the succession rules! However, blue stroller was the clue. So you have a grand-daughter? Lucky you :)

  9. Such lovely news about our new prince. No one seems to have predicted William as his name. Well why not? Love all your blue photos and such a lovely idea.

    1. I wondered about William too - bit of a puzzle there. Why go back to the great-grandparents when the father has such a good name? Had fun with blue, and so does Kate, I see, wearing a nice blue spot dress to leave the hospital. Very nice xx

  10. Congratulations to you all in Australia, Britain, Canada...
As I myself have been waiting for the baby girl, I really have not thought about the gender of the Royal baby.
But - all the names presented are awfully boring and have an attic smell to them.
Would it be possible for Kate and William to choose a totally different name for their son = brake the rules for at least once?
You had a lovely place to spend a few days in!

    1. You have the best reason on earth to ignore the fuss in the Royal family - your new grand-daughter is a winner! Yes, agree, attic smell to these old names and I would love something original. But I will be surprised if that happens!

  11. Beautiful beach! Yes, I was expecting it to be a girl...I also hope they name him something a bit less traditional.

  12. So now we know he is a George, Patricia, like his great grandfather. It is so nice to have something hopeful in the news. It looks as if you have been in a wonderful place this week, too. Have a great weekend!

    1. Welcome to my blog, Jenny. Yes, it is George, as many predicted, a nice strong kingly name. We have been in the tropics; off to do a post about it now!
      Happy weekend to you too!
