Bonjour, mes amies...
I have arrived in Canada at last - just in time for Spring.
The flowers are wonderful...
My daughter has lily of the valley popping up everywhere.
It is the first time I have seen these flowers for real, not just in pictures!
So, so delicate and pretty
Everyone has tulips - imagine that!
Think this is a crab apple. So gorgeous.
Knew I was in Canada when I saw my first Tim Hortons...
First sighting of a red cardinal...
They say this is a weed, but to me, very cute and sweet.
And best of all: at last I have met the Little Bebe, our five month old new grandson. He is beyond cute, plump and adorable.
Smiles at Grannie and Gramps already, the little sweetheart.
Heavenly!
And here he is with his big brother, aka the Petit Garcon who has grown like a weed into quite the young man.
He is now into Star Wars. Big time.
Sings the theme song all day long.
We are, of course, joining in with this hearty chorus.
Have a great weekend - we certainly will!
xxxx
Oh, you must be beyond happy ! Have a wonderful time ! Gros bisous du Lapin d'Argent !xx
ReplyDeleteVraiement tres content, merci, Lapin d'Argent! xx
DeleteI am so happy for you - Both Little Bebe and Petit Garcon are gorgeous little grandchildren - I know that you are having and will have a wonderful visit.
ReplyDeleteI always find it so interesting the way snow seems to linger around forever in Canada and yet all of the their blossom suddenly explodes swiftly into flowers, they have almost caught up with us already.
Thank you Rosemary I can scarcely believe we are finally here. The baby is already adjusting to our faces and responding to us. The blossoms are incredible, and as you say, it was only snowing here about 2 weeks ago! My camera is very busy indeed :)
DeleteOh, I bet you are so excited! Have a wonderful time over there. by the way, that blue flower that they say is a weed looks like forget-me-not and we have loads of it here and it's so pretty when in flower especially when spread over an area. I don't think we class it as a weed, but I could be wrong. Enjoy your time. Suzy x
ReplyDeleteOh Suzy, I thought it might be forget-me-not too; how many times have I embroidered this flower! I saw them spread over a section of lawn and they are very pretty. Having fun with the babies.. xx

ReplyDeleteOoooops! I made a booboo and posted same comment twice. ;)
DeleteAnd so good to be here for Mothers Day, too! We are off to church followed by a Maple Syrup farm/pancake place.
ReplyDeletePerfect timing to be in Canada on Mother´s Day. The best of gifts.
ReplyDeleteSpring is way ahead to that of our´s at your daughter´s!
The smallest is the cutest ( for now ).
Enjoy : )!!
Mother's Day was great, and the best gift little handprints from the boys. Can't stop smiling!!
DeleteIt looks like you are having a wonderful time with your grandsons! What sweethearts! And yes, you definitely know you are in Canada when you see Tim Horton's. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think I should buy a franchise and introduce Tim Horton's to Australia, Kristie!!
DeleteAww Patricia you're there at last!!!
ReplyDeletePetite bebe is a darling and no doubt being totally spoiled by his grandparents!
I just love lily of the valley too and my mother grew a lovely patch on the south side of the house (likes the shade) which flowered prolifically each Spring - I still remember that wonderful perfume and it will always remind me of home!
I forget you can’t grow these cold climate plants in Brisbane - they're most definitely worth the long winter wait.
I hope your flight wasn't too arduous for you both.
Thank you for your kind words on my "Mother" post.
She died 23 July 2000. My daughter left for France in the January so I missed having her for consolation - boys aren't the same in that way are they?!
Treasure every moment of every day you are there - the beautiful memories will keep you going once you return home Patricia.
hugs
Shane ♥
Thank you Shane for your kind comments. Of course we are so in love with the new baby, as much as his older brother. It will be a wrench to leave, as you also know. Similarly to you, my daughter was in England when my mother died; I travelled over about a month later and was pleased to have that mother/daughter time together. As for the flight, we came very slowly, overnighting in both LA and MOntreal, so arrived in quite good shape. We do the same thing going home. Almost came over to Auckland in July, but had a quick change of plan. :) hugs <3
DeleteOh such stunning flowers, it must be lovely to be meeting your new grandson, have a wonderful holiday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Tabitha, the flowers continue to surprise and delight me. Pink and purple tulips today. Intend to wring the most from these hols!
DeleteWhat a treasure your little Bebe is. And you are treasure for sharing this beautiful post with us all. Thankyou for those beautiful pics of all those lovely blooms. I love the tulips especially.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shell, the little ones are treasures indeed. Tulip Festival in Ottawa now, and hope to see more of them during the week.
DeleteWhat a glorious time of year for your visit, Patricia. It looks like the Little Bebe will be outgrowing his name very soon, just as his big brother is rapidly outgrowing his. :-) Enjoy your visit.
ReplyDeletePS I had to Google Tim Horton's - my ignorance is staggering.....
I am thinking of renaming the boys, but can't decide what to call them. We are having a delightful time with them. I had never heard of Tim Horton's either, until I came here and saw them all over! They are very convenient when the snow is thick on the ground and hot chocolate is required urgently..
DeleteYour new addition really is as cute as a button! He's a gorgeous little boy. It must have been lovely to finally get to cuddle him. Hope you have a fantastic holiday!
ReplyDeleteHe is sooooo cute, Sulky. I take a dozen photos a day. Today he is six months old, so it was high time we came to cuddle him, and we certainly do! Having a great time in Canada. xx
DeleteHope you are having a terrific holiday! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Fifi, we are completely into baby/toddler mode now! xxx
