Hello dear Readers
We are here in Canada, just outside Ottawa, with our
daughter and her little family.
Blogging is difficult - a mix of the i\phone and daughter's laptop...
The snow is so beautiful and I love to go walking - despite very cold, -18c
Will try to upload a few pics of the neighbourhood.
Been to a sweet local Heritage Museum which served Hot Apple Cider and Christmas fare
A lovely piece of Victorian crazy patch
Gambolling grandsons
Frosty ferns on our bedroom window pane...
'Tis me, at the Christmas Tree farm..
and Mr Cardinal..they serve free hot chocolate for every customer
The boys loved this place...
and so did I
xxxx
So pleased that you have arrived safely in Canada. Snow is lovely when warmly dressed and accompanied by sunshine and bright blue skies.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rosemary, I am always relieved when we safely cross the Pacific! The blue skies do certainly make the snow look gorgeous; hope we get lots of those days.
DeleteLooks like you're having a wonderful time with your daughter and her family. You still have lots of snow up in Ottawa, ours has melted but crossing fingers it comes back for a White Christmas. So happy you're enjoying it here in Canada. xx
ReplyDeleteWe are having a very special time enjoying the boys very much. Hope you get your white Christmas too!
DeleteLovely snow! Hope you have lots of fun with your family in Canada!
ReplyDeleteI love that you got that last shot of a wooden Cardinal. Now, you must look out for the real ones!
That big wood bird sure stood out in the snow! I keep looking but have not seen any birds here yet. Maybe too cold?
DeleteIt is lovely Val, at least for a few weeks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty and comfortable neighborhood. Clean snow! Enjoy everything Canadian Trish! 🇨🇦🎄
ReplyDeleteThe snow was crisp and clean earlier this week- getting a bit dirty now! I think we need a bit more!
DeleteHow wintery and wonderful! LOVE the pretty teacup tree! The 'heat' has arrived here Trish so enjoy your frosty weather. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas xx
ReplyDeleteI bought two pretty cups and saucers, lol. Having a great time here and do not miss that heat one bit! Xx
DeleteMy it does look cold! I don't think I ever was as cold as when I was in Ontario in the winter!!!!!! It is many years since I saw ferns on the bedroom windows and strange as it might sound, I miss them. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.
ReplyDeleteThe ferns are s gorgeous, hope you see them again one day. My camera thinks they are 'landscape'!!
DeleteThat's so pretty. My stepson lives in Ottawa. Cold but pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, cold and pretty the perfect description. Total opposite of tropical Christmas 🎄😍
DeleteChristmas in Canada looks wonderful, Patricia. So much snow! That little tea cup tree is very cute. Have a fun time with your family, and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Thank you Sheri, we are enjoying our Christmas holiday very much and yes, I bought two pretty cups from that tree!
DeleteGlad you are enjoying your visit with family Patricia! Nice shots of the neighbourhood. Put some sunflower seeds out for those cardinals, and they'll be visiting the feeder fairly quickly. How nice that you got to collect the tree together. Merry Christmas!!

We are loving the winter scenery, everything white with snow. Hope to attract a cardinal real soon 😍
DeleteWow, this is proper winter! The snow looks so lovely. And I also like the photos from the heritage museum, especially that quilt. Happy Holidays!

It is a serious winter here! A big contrast to our hot Australian Christmas. I loved the quilting too and have done some crazy patch myself occasionally.
DeleteGoodness, minus 18 is incredibly cold! It looks very pretty, I must say and I love the ferns! I've never seen that. At least I don't think so! Those houses are also very pretty, aren't they? Enjoy your cold Christmas, Patricia!
ReplyDeleteSome days are less cold, it varies. And we are acclimatising. Love the architecture here 😍🇨🇦
DeleteIt looks so pretty...and I love the ferns on that windowpane. So lovely that you are able to visit your family and especially nice at this festive time of year. Stay cozy!
ReplyDeleteI was so pleased with the ice ferns, love filming them. We are enjoying Canada in winter very much .🎄🇨🇦
DeleteHi Patricia love your pics, love seeing the snow,Merry Xmas my friend xx
ReplyDeleteThank you and glad you enjoy the shots of our first ever white Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Xx
DeletePatricia, so happy you arrived safely and do not miss the heat!!!! It's certainly a huge temperature change for you but as they say, "there's no bad weather, just the wrong clothing' haha!!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely pix - I'm envying that wooden red cardinal on the fence!
Enjoy each moment - at least the Canadians know how to handle snow. Here in North Carolina it's 70F today so no chance of a beautiful 'white Christmas' here.
Happy Christmas - blessings for the coming year.
Mary -
Hello Mary, sounds warm down there. It is snowing a lot and very lovely for our first ever white Christmas. I loved that wooden cardinal but alas have not seen a real one, nor any other birds. Only squirrels who are cute. Wishing you a blessed and beautiful Christmas in your gorgeous home. Xo
DeleteMerriest Christmas to you and your family Patricia❤️
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Linda :o)
Linda! So fun that we are close 'as the crow flies' - old Australian saying :). Merriest Christmas to you and the family and the precious new babe. ❤️🎄⛄️❄️
