MOTHER'S DAY

Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate today.
Mr C spoilt me very well, with this beautiful card and some new PJs...

Surely the Winter weather will come eventually and I can wear them...

None of our children are in town, but everybody phoned in..

Later my guy took me to one of my favourite places - a Garden Centre...

for brunch.  Eggs Benedict, how I love you..a very special treat.

Their gift shop is always attractive..

Are there any starfish left in the sea?

Dear HB bought me a yellow mini rose.
I love yellow roses...

I wore a new kimono jacket recently made.
For those interested in technical details, I used Simplicity pattern 1318, and a digital print polyester sourced in Sydney.  Total cost:  around $12.

Happy Mother's Day, and

Have a great week.

XXXXX

PS Loved it in Australia, and loved it again this week at the National Portrait Gallery: Kate's pink peplum dress...

  1. What a lovely Mothering Sunday you enjoyed Patricia - your family may not have been around but Mr.Cardinal treated you like royalty.
The Eggs Bendict looks really delicious.

    1. Yes, a lovely day Rosemary. Glad I had the royal treatment - no point in dwelling on children far away. Today we saw the little Canadians on skype; the six year old is now fluent in French :)

  2. How lovely to be so spoilt. I love Eggs Benedict too and your kimono is really so pretty. You are such a talented seamstress! I really must take some more time to start sewing again. One day. When I've stopped teaching. There just isn't time for everything is there?

    1. Eggs Bene is so rich, I rarely indulge. Which makes it extra special about once a year. I did enjoy making the kimono, as it was an easy pattern to put together. I find sewing relaxing, although my eyes are not so good now and I had to get extra specs with a strong lens to see the eye of the needle!

  3. Happy Mother's Day, Patricia. You know, eggs benedict is one of Nel's favorites. oooo, I love your kimono jacket - very pretty with bright colors. That's so nice that you can make clothes for yourself. Did you buy anything at the gift shop? It looks charming. That's so nice of your husband to buy you some mini yellow roses.

I hope you had a wonderful day, dear.

    1. Hello Sheri, hope you had a good day too. Eggs benedict seems to be a world-wide treat - so delicious. The kimono is going to be a favourite I think, and it went so well in the garden centre, even a worker there commented on it. No, didn't buy anything at the shop - but I have other times. I just hope those pesky cockatoos don't take a liking to the mini roses! xx

  4. Your kimono looks wonderful, and you have such a pretty smile ... it would be nice to see your entire face ;)
I have had a mini yellow rose for quite a few years, but I don't see life coming back to it this spring. It was doing so well last summer too. I'm glad you were treated like royalty yourself for Mother's Day! Enjoy your week ahead,
    Wendy

    1. Yes Carrie, same day as the States, differs from the UK. I love the kimono pattern, which is very popular among sewists. Yes, mothers all enjoy flowers/shopping/lunch. And now, off to the gym, and get weighed today...hmmmmm
