SCARLET BLOOMS AND A LOOK AT THE PRINCESS OF WALES

 Hello
A day of rain has brightened up our Spring blooms

and today the Sun shone again..

There are wild ducks everywhere, as I go for my walk.
Soon there will be little lines of ducklings ...

Today, a nearby road

I could not resist a new calico doorstop...

In other news, my friend J gave me a cushion to match our Summer Flowers duvet cover - painted in acrylic on fabric by her own fair hands...

Thank you, we love it!

The new Prince and Princess of Wales have taken up their duties -
and Catherine has shone in some new Autumn style...

In Wales, a chic red coat, a not to the Welsh national colour..

Love the new wide-leg trousers too..

Conservative in cream...

A gorgeous blue coat on a visit to Belfast..

and a vintage Chanel jacket.

Is she settling on a smart trouser suit look for Autumn?

As a lover of yellow, I am pleased to report a pretty dress on a sunny day.

Perhaps you have heard, the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place on 6th May, 2023.  I am trying to figure out a way to go to London around that time - I know, just dreaming...

Have a good week.

XXXXX

PS Our twin grandsons turned 2!  Doesn't time fly..

The princess' clothes are always beautiful. She reminds me of the Queen's brand new perfect looking fashions.

    1. Thank you, they had a great time. I agree, Catherine will be a perfect Queen one day. And yes, thank you, I am avoiding viruses these days :)

  2. I get all of my latest royal news courtesy your good self Patricia. No, I didn't know that the Coronation is going to take place in May next year.
My favourite Catherine outfit is the yellow dress on the lefthand side - yellow is such a sunny, happy, colour.
It is hard to believe that the twins are now two years old - time really does fly, and the cushion painted for you by your friend is adorable.

    1. Yes, the yellow dress is the correct answer... Yellow always brings smiles. The twins send greetings: they have become quite vocal and are putting together little sentences very nicely. Soon they will be finishing them for each other :)

  3. Catherine is wearing some lovely outfits, 1st time seeing the photos for me. Such a vivid red flower on top! And oh my, 2 years have breezed by quickly! I remember the news of the birth of the twins well.

    1. Hi from the twins, who are very bright little boys now. I think Catherine's new outfits are worth watching. It seems to me that the royal ladies have been putting together new wardrobes for their new roles for some time.

  4. Your red scarlet blooms are pretty, Patricia. I like Kate's red coat, it's very stylish. Red is a favorite of mine in flowers, birds, and fashion. What a sweet picture of the ducks making their way across the street. Happy Birthday to the twins! - can't believe they are already 2. Yes, they do grow up fast. That is such a lovely cushion your friend made for you. It matches the cover perfectly. What a thoughtful friend you have.

Have a restful and peaceful Sunday, Patricia.

    1. Thank you Sheri. I love that the red poinsettias come out for Christmas. And of course, I love a red bird too. Those little boys are growing like weeds, and it gives me a workout just to pick them up. But they do love a cuddle from Grannie. Isn't that cushion great? I was so happy.

  5. Catherine always looks so polished. I like all of her outfits, but that blue coat caught my eye when I first saw it this week.
What fun to have those two-year-old grandsons! One of our granddaughters will be two in 6 weeks and this is such a fun and busy age.
The cushion to match your duvet cover is very pretty, and made even more so by knowing your friend made it for you. Have a wonderful week, Patricia.

  6. Dearest Patricia,
Thanks for sharing your spring beauty with us in the northern hemisphere. Well, here we still have blooms and today it was 30°C so nothing to complain about 😏
What lovely photos from the princess of Whales—and I'm with you on the yellow; a favorite color.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

    1. Ah, I know you like yellow Mariette - you have a gorgeous yellow house! I still remember my first yellow dress as a young teen: I was smitten for life. 30C is still quite hot, so I guess Autumn has not really arrived for you yet. Lovely time of year.

    2. Patricia, yes it sure is autumn here but in a very pleasant way! 30°C is lovely compared to 40°C... and above all, the lower humidity!
Our home is a Golden Mist color and that's what I love most the deep ochre yellow...

    1. Hello Carrie, Welsh heritage sounds interesting. I have some Irish heritage - just cross the water! Floral always wins my heart too, can't resist. I don't think my coronation plan will get very far, he he. But I would love to go back to Canada next year. I am sure it looks as gorgeous as your area looks right now. xo

  10. Lovely photos as always, Trish. I am intrigued by your duck explosion and love your doorstop! I hadn't heard about the coronation, but sadly the news from the UK just recently has eclipsed thoughts of future celebrations.

    1. Hello Val. I enjoy the ducks in Spring, so why not a ducky doorstop :) My goodness, the UK news is rather alarming these days. The world has turned on its head lately!

  12. Oh how I love photos that you show us! I love to see what the Princess of Wales will wear next! Wish I could be in London too! Do you know, one year you and I were in London at the same time? We might have walked right past each other! I would have strolling along pointing at everything and marvelling at the least little thing like I always do!!
