The Festival of Gold continues....
As mentioned previously on the blog, we are celebrating our Golden/50th Wedding Anniversary later this year.
Last Saturday, we joined a host of other couples wed in 1971, at a Golden Anniversary Mass and Renewal of Vows:
The Cathedral was packed, and it was a touching and lovely occasion.
The music was beautiful, sacred hymns popular at the time of our weddings, and finishing with Mendelssohn's Wedding March from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
I felt a little like a bride again....
I wore my best Golden linen dress, carried my favourite Camilla clutch:
and wore a beaded yellow headband...

I remember your wedding well, including the bridesmaids with parasols.... Don't remember what you had as a Wedding March on the day tho LOL, perhaps it was the Mendelssohn. If hearing it made you feel bridal this week that's all that matters! Great Blog entry, really enjoyed it all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good memory you have! I am unsure about the Wedding March - I think the choir sang Vivaldi's Gloria as we walked up the aisle after our ceremony. The Golden Mass was really special, and the Groom kissed the bride :)

ReplyDeleteI saw Kate on TV a few days ago playing tennis with our new tennis heroine Emma Raducanu. She was wearing a navy and white tennis outfit and I must say she looked absolutely stunning - she has a pair of lovely long slender limbs too.

Thank you rosemary. I saw a still photo of Kate's tennis outfit, and she certainly has beautiful athletic limbs. She must be super fit, which would be a real asset for leading a busy life as Queen.

Thank you Lorrie, prep today and operation tomorrow. Much shorter than normal time in hospital, due to Covid, so 'hospital' at home after that! I loved the Anniversary Mass.

Aw, thank you Mary. I love that dress which has been on a few trips to Europe, and thought it perfect for the occasion. Kate is more perfect than ever, so lean and fit, and stunning in her elegance. Yes, I'd say she works hard but it certainly pays off. xx

I've been to Mass before when they mentioned couples who have been married a long time, and I always thought it was so special. Kate's dress is exquisite. I used to watch all the James Bond movies, but not so much any more.
