Easter morning: attempting to do a self-portrait in my new Easter shirt ... I don't know how people succeed in this photo challenge!
Anyhoo, here it is, citrus shirt by PingPong, found in local boutique..
Who, me?
After early morning church, we quickly drove to Dad's town and found his Retirement Home well into the Easter Spirit..
Dad loves a bird as much as I do (well, that's where I get it from)
and we spent time watching Noisy Miners feeding a chick ..
And a blue-faced honey-eater...
Here's a close-up thanks to Google Images.
We all know Dad loves a country drive ..
It was amazingly green after the recent rains -
not like Australia at all, really.
Public Art, reminded me of a Trojan horse!
Monday saw us catching up with friends,
and buying a new suitcase - and we know what that is for.....
Have a great week!

What a pretty new shirt. I enjoy your post about time with your Dad. My Mom lives in another state and I'm planning a visit sometime in May. Wish she were closer.

Thanks Darla, I love the shirt. It is hard when family live far away, parents or children. Hope your May visit comes off for you.
DeleteYour shirt is beautiful and those eggs look delicious! What are those luscious purple flowers? Bet you're counting the days until Canada, now.
ReplyDeleteThanks Beryl, taking the shirt out to lunch tomorrow! We call those flowers Geisha, but I don't know the botanical name. It is a shrub and easy to grow.
DeleteThat blue-faced honey-eater is a lovely looking bird and I love the 'trojan horse' x
ReplyDeleteI liked the horse too, but didn't get close enough to catch its significance. Any bird with blue gets my vote. x
DeleteTaking "selfies" is harder than it looks! That is the cutest little bird. I bet you can't wait to take off!
ReplyDeleteMust practice 'selfies' - sounds rather indecent, doesn't it! Dad and I always spot our little feathered friends.
DeleteHow lovely, an Easter shirt, in an Easter color.
ReplyDeleteCompared to your self photos, my skills are zero.
What a sharp picture of the blue faced bird!
But actually, as you might guess, my main interest is the horse - great art!
Loved that Easter shirt Mette.. yes, the horse is a hit, everyone loves it.
DeleteI bet you are getting very excited about your trip...i hope all your planning and packing is going well. The horse, by the way, is fabulous. Hope you've had a great Easter. Jx
ReplyDeleteDear Janice, it's great to see you are up to commenting again; I hope it means you are going well. Planning and packing are all happening, and more sewing for the littlies! x
DeleteLovely easter shirt Patricia.
ReplyDeletelovely photos of the birds. How can your dad not like them... they are so soothing to watch.
I like the horse.. a great sculpture.
Enjoy the rest of your Easter week.
best wishes

Thanks Val, I hope you also had a lovely Easter. That shirt really spoke to me, a perfect colour on Easter morning. The horse is at the entrance to a country town, and looks most impressive. xx
DeleteThat sounds like a perfect way to spend Easter Sunday, Patricia. I love your new shirt - such a subtle colour. I bet you're counting off the days to your Canadian trip. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a perfect Easter for us, given all the circumstances Perpetua. I felt very festive in my yellow shirt.
DeleteI love the colour of your shirt, so fresh and pretty for the spring when you reach Canada. I wonder if you would be more successful with your portrait if you turned the flash off first? The blue-faced honey-eater is an exquisite looking bird.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, had not thought of taking yellow shirt for a trip, maybe I will. Had to smile re the flash - so true, Rosemary. Sometimes I can be quite the muddle-head :)
DeleteLovely shirt Patricia and those birds are are gorgeous. Your trip to Canada sounds good - we have just been looking at a Canadian tour in our newspaper today which I quite fancy but we'll have to see. Have a good week. Thanks for your comment on my last post.
ReplyDeletePatricia x
From P to P: your blog is lovely, look forward to your posts. Canada is a very beautiful country, I would love to see more of it myself some day. But this time it will be concentrated around the Ottawa area.
