EASTER SUNDAY

Easter morning: attempting to do a self-portrait in my new Easter shirt ... I don't know how people succeed in this photo challenge!

Anyhoo, here it is, citrus shirt by PingPong, found in local boutique..

Who, me?

After early morning church, we quickly drove to Dad's town and found his Retirement Home well into the Easter Spirit..

Dad loves a bird as much as I do (well, that's where I get it from)
and we spent time watching Noisy Miners feeding a chick ..

And a blue-faced honey-eater...

Here's a close-up thanks to Google Images.

We all know Dad loves a country drive ..

It was amazingly green after the recent rains -
not like Australia at all, really.

Public Art, reminded me of a Trojan horse!

Monday saw us catching up with friends,
and buying a new suitcase - and we know what that is for.....

Have a great week!

  1. What a pretty new shirt. I enjoy your post about time with your Dad. My Mom lives in another state and I'm planning a visit sometime in May. Wish she were closer.

    1. Thanks Darla, I love the shirt. It is hard when family live far away, parents or children. Hope your May visit comes off for you.

  2. Your shirt is beautiful and those eggs look delicious! What are those luscious purple flowers? Bet you're counting the days until Canada, now.

    1. Thanks Beryl, taking the shirt out to lunch tomorrow! We call those flowers Geisha, but I don't know the botanical name. It is a shrub and easy to grow.

    1. I liked the horse too, but didn't get close enough to catch its significance. Any bird with blue gets my vote. x

  4. Taking "selfies" is harder than it looks! That is the cutest little bird. I bet you can't wait to take off!

    1. Must practice 'selfies' - sounds rather indecent, doesn't it! Dad and I always spot our little feathered friends.

  5. How lovely, an Easter shirt, in an Easter color.
Compared to your self photos, my skills are zero.
What a sharp picture of the blue faced bird!
But actually, as you might guess, my main interest is the horse - great art!

    1. Thanks Val, I hope you also had a lovely Easter. That shirt really spoke to me, a perfect colour on Easter morning. The horse is at the entrance to a country town, and looks most impressive. xx

    1. Yes, it was a perfect Easter for us, given all the circumstances Perpetua. I felt very festive in my yellow shirt.

  9. I love the colour of your shirt, so fresh and pretty for the spring when you reach Canada. I wonder if you would be more successful with your portrait if you turned the flash off first? The blue-faced honey-eater is an exquisite looking bird.

    1. From P to P: your blog is lovely, look forward to your posts. Canada is a very beautiful country, I would love to see more of it myself some day. But this time it will be concentrated around the Ottawa area.
