Post No. 200 - I never thought I'd see those words when I started the Red Cardinal blog back in 2011.
Little did I know, Blogging is Addictive!
To celebrate, I have found a Red Bird brooch, by elk accessories of Melbourne, Australia.
Elk works with small family manufacturers utilising traditional crafts and skills, and supports small communities with consistent, sustainable work.
The brooch is made of timber sourced from sustainable plantation trees, and the piece is made from all natural materials.
The bird can be yours!!
To go into the draw for a chance to win this lovely brooch, all you need to do is be a Follower and leave a Comment on the blog before the 1st February.

Hello ! What a lot of beautiful pictures ! Michelle was very elegant but I didn't like her hair at all ; here on TV a voice-over showed Barack swearing on the Bible that his wife would never ever sport such an ugly hairstyle, it was great fun ! Congratulations on your 200th, I wonder if I'll ever reach that magic number though as you say, blogging is VERY addictive ! Oh, and I know it's a very long way but if you could persuade that little red bird to fly over to Paris, it would be cherished for ever !!!xx
ReplyDeleteSilver Bunny, the dilemma will be I'd love to send everybody a little red bird! Can't afford that, so names will have to go in a hat..no, elegant milk glass basket. I'm not 100% sure of Michelle's hair either, although it looks youthful. That is funny about the TV voice-over. I love satirical TV about current affairs.

Congratulations Patricia! 200 posts - I'll never get that far. That little brooch is super-cute so please enter me in the giveaway.I knew Michelle would wear a jewel colour. I preferred her new hair style with a little bit of a flick to it.
ReplyDeleteIt will sneak up on you Sulky. Before you can scratch yourself, the numbers will be mounting up. You were Right On re the jewel colour. Bonus points for that. Two names in the basket already, and Mr C just asked me what you have to do to win it!!! What Is He Thinking - he's got no chance, he he

Congratulations on your 200th post, Patricia. That's quite an achievement. I've been blogging for as long as you and I've only reached 135. :-) As a recent follower, I'm really enjoying the mix of topics you write about and your lovely photos. Long may your blog flourish!
ReplyDeleteThank you Perpetua, I do wonder when I will run out of puff! Glad you enjoy the mix, and let's hope the blog (and the garden) flourish!
DeleteCongratulations on achieving your 200th post. I enjoy reading your wide variety of topics and finding out what's going on with our blogging friend down under. You are so right, blogging becomes addictive. By the way, didn't you correctly predict Michelle would choose red for her inauguration gown? Good job! Wishing you a happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sanda, I enjoy reading about life in Alabama, too. I thought Michelle would go bright, red or (secretly hoping) cobalt blue. No first lady ever seems to choose black. Happy Wednesday to you, too.
DeleteWell done Patricia on your 200th post - and you are right it is rather addictive.
ReplyDeleteYou must have the biggest haul of little red birds in the southern hemisphere, but I can understand your attraction to them. I think that our Robin is the only little red bird we have here, but he is joyously celebrated especially at Christmas.
Thanks you Rosemary. Admit to a few red birds ... I grew up admiring red robins in snow on Christmas cards. It was such a thrill last time we went to London, walking through Green Park in January frost, I suddenly spied one nearby on a branch. Until then I was not even sure of their size. Managed to get a quick pic, too.
DeleteThe broach is the perfect thing for your prize. A little reminder of Red Cardinal every time it is worn.
ReplyDeleteDarla
I've been searching for a while for a good red bird giveaway piece, and found it just in time. Meant to be! You never know, it could be yours, Darla..
DeleteCongratulations on posting #200 - all very entertaining, varied and interesting in the content! Thank-you for sharing 200 glimpses into your life, and I'll be looking forward to the next 200...J
ReplyDeleteThanks Judith, and Happy Australia Day for Saturday! Glad you like the blog; I find the trick is to find a balance between sharing my life, and not giving out too much family information, especially about the little ones. Hope to have a more exciting life this year. More excitment = more to write about.
DeleteCongratulations Patricia.
ReplyDeleteI think we started blogging around the same time. Next month it will be 2 years.

Dear Val, thank you, and thank you for being so supportive to me last year. I write myself bloggie notes too - is it a secret sign of addiction? I'm so glad I found blogging, a way to have fun at home even when the chips are down. Must thank my trusty camera, too.
DeleteKeep warm and dry over there in Portugal. xxx
