Time flies and it's already Mid-November ..
Summer heat has arrived along with a season of noisy thunderstorms.
Yesterday a storm rolled in around 5.30pm, and shortly after I took this photo we were plunged into darkness from the intense black clouds as heavy rain arrived, about an hour before normal Sunset.
Fortunately, we have not lost electricity from the almost daily show of thunder and lightning, but we always turn off appliances just in case.
A few years ago, lightning struck the house, and we lost computers, TVs, and even the iron which were plugged into the power.
Wasn't it lovely to see the Princess of Wales last weekend, at the Day of Remembrance concert and the military parade on Sunday morning.
She looks lovely, and so much healthier now following her cancer treatment. Wishing her a happy and healthy future.
He seemed to enjoy his recent trip to Australia, and also looks well after his year of treatment.
a cute Wallaby (a small kangaroo) came up to our front door, had a look around, then eventually hopped back down the drive.
This is the first time we have seen one in our area, although there is bush about one km away.
Until we got the camera three years ago, we had no idea how many nocturnal visitors we have when we are fast asleep.
Cats are common, and there have been possums, reptiles, birds, dogs, and occasionally people!
But I love an early Christmas, especially if I can entice the little grandies to come over and play around it.
Thank you dear Mary...
I have fallen away a bit on my junk journal obsession from earlier in the year, however am inspired to make a Christmas journal in Advent format, a daily page from December 1 to Christmas day.
I have collected a lot of cards and papers, hoping to show you when I manage to construct something.
Here's a rare pic of we two old Red Cardinals celebrating a birthday:

That wallaby on your porch! Isn't it something to know that animal hopped up there overnight! King Charles sure did love his visit to Australia, I saw him on the news, he was full of delight. Doesn't Princess Kate look beautiful? She always does and I do so love it when you show us her fashions! Love the photo of you two and the LEGO house! The glass unicorn reminds me of "The Glass Menagerie", I'm sure you know it. x
ReplyDeleteYes! Tennessee Williams, the Glass Menagerie and a glass unicorn. Clever Kay. I wish I could show you the video of the cute little wallaby but technology defeats me. It was the sweetest thing. Did I buy the Lego Gingerbread house for the kids, or for me? That is the question.....
DeleteIt was 34c in Melbourne today, and everyone was in a great mood. The birds were singing, the pet dogs were all going on long walks and the children were swimming. Rock on summer.. in a fortnight!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a hot day for Melbourne. But a fine day is always nice, especially when there are birds around. I love Melbourne, and always enjoy our occasional weekends to visit the NGV, Fed Square, etc.
DeleteWhat a joy to have a sighting of the little kangaroo at your front porch area, Patricia. Yes, the critters and other special animals seem to come out at night. My son noticed a deer pass by when he stepped out on the front porch one night. And I've seen bunnies scurry along the street too. Kate looks lovely in black, and I love the red poppy pin she's wearing. I was so sorry to hear that she had this dreadful illness. I do hope she has a healthy life ahead. The unicorn ornament is sweet, and how special it would be to give to your granddaughter. And a wonderful picture of you and your husband. You look nice in black and white, and one of my favorite fashion combinations.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy this beautiful season, Patricia.

I would love to see a deer pass by; I have heard that they are in an area a couple of miles from us but have not seen one. Bunnies are cute but we don't have them here. Thank you for your kind comment - I wear a lot of black and white and I also think it is a chic combination.
DeleteHello beautiful Trish!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love catching up and seeing what's happening in your world. Wow - I never thought about lightening ruining appliances and things...that's scary!
It's so fun to see the different kinds of critters you get on your camera than we do on ours (we have a doorbell camera) and it's more like we see deer, black bear, bunnies, fox - very northwoodsy critters.
Love the pic of the 2 of you - so cute!! And it is so wonderful to see Princess Kate doing so well. Love keeping up with the royals even if they're not in our world here in the states.
Blessings on your week ahead. xoxo
Hello beautiful Carrie! It seems you do not have tropical storms - but I am sure the storms over Lake Superior are quite dramatic. I like your line up of critters too, although I could do without the bears; we saw them at Parc Omega near Montreal last year, rather scary. Enjoy the Season. Blessings xoxo
DeleteHow fun to have a wallaby show up on your front porch! The storms you have sound intense. We are expecting a windstorm here again. Tis the season! Love the photo of the two of you. So often we don't see what our blogger friends look like.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that Princess Catherine is recovering from her cancer treatment. And King Charles, too. It's been a rough few years for the royal family.
Blessings on the days ahead.
Hello Lorrie, that was a rare sighting indeed, the little 'bush baby'. I can imagine the wild weather coming around your island - we love passing through British Colombia on our journeys to Ottawa, such a beautiful and dramatic area. Thank you for your kind comment - I am a bit shy of photos since my hair went white! Blessings to you too.
DeleteSuch a beautiful picture of you my dear!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what could happen if appliances were plugged in during a lightening strike!
My little grand is also a lover of unicorns! How old is yours?
Sending you big hugs from Southern California! XOX
Thank you Tamera. Our little grand, our only granddaughter, is 2.5, and talks wonderfully. After four grandsons she is such a delight. We have some very wild thunderstorms here! Big hugs to you too xox
DeletePrincess of Wales always has that smile.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures and catch-up, Trish, especially of you and Mr. C!
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra. I can't seem to blog as frequently these days, but am thinking of doing something today :)
DeleteOh Trish, I’m so sorry I’m so late here. I feel ashamed to have neglected my blog pals in recent weeks. It’s just been a very busy time, work wise. Anyway, this was a lovely post. I enjoyed your stormy photos and was entertained by your early Christmas pics. I do hope you have a happy and healthy one this year. It’s not far off now, is it?
ReplyDeleteDear Val, so lovely you dropped by. I have been quite remiss re blog friends too - is it the weather or something? Glad you enjoyed, and yes, it is still wet here, storms and floods. I really should start some Christmas shopping soon, he he.
