LIFE IN A HUMID CLIMATE

Hello.
Here's a shot taken at the Art Gallery Cafe, as we sat beside the water feature sipping Sunday coffee and pondering the reflections.

We took Little Aussie in to the children's art centre.
Here he admires the work of Yayoi Kusama.

But on to the topic of the day:

Did you watch the Oscars?

Here are a few of my favourite frocks:

I like white.
Margot Robbie because (a) Chanel and (b) she comes from our State of Queensland.

Jane Fonda for elegance and maturity.
And I like her hair.

Laura Dern.  Nice.

Our Nicole.  Sculptural and Stunning.
And always fabulous.

I like cobalt blue too.

I think this might be Jennifer Garner.  Not sure.

Helen Mirren.  Flawless and maturity.

Blush pink, because....

Busy times, but not much happening..
do you ever feel like that?

I am spending hours putting together our next holiday trip.
Flying off again to a few countries we have never seen.
Art and Music is the theme.

Have a good week

  1. Like your dress picks very much! Margot Robbie's dress was stunning, and she was there with her mother, who she is the image of!
Your trip planning sounds very exciting. I'm curious to know where you're going! xxx

    1. Margot's gown was great, not too heavy or sophisticated, just fresh and lovely for the young girl she is. What a talent!

  3. Beautiful gowns on very beautiful women! I'm a big fan of Helen Mirren. Nothing much happens here until the weather brings everyone outdoors again. This winter has been a rather dull one here. I'm looking out on my patio dreaming of the outdoor furniture being put to use again. A trip sounds very exciting! I'm going on one too, to the other side of Canada :)

    1. Ah yes, you will be looking forward to Spring, and what a fabulous Spring you have over there. I'm thinking lilacs, and crabapples, and, and, and- gorgeous. Other side of Canada - I wonder if you are crossing the Rockies, or heading to Nova Scotia! :)

  4. Lovely photos, Patricia. I must say I never follow these award programmes, and the dresses are such I could never imagine ever wearing, but they look gorgeous on these ladies! Helen Mirren looks fabulous. How does she doe it? I am intrigued about your holiday plans!

    1. Thank you Val. Those dresses really are just for the red carpet, aren't they. Glad you like Helen too, she is simply amazing. She is on the cover of the Australian Women's Week atm, looking totally cool and glam.

  5. Humid sounds good to me at this moment. I spent 45 mins in the garden today and that was quite long enough!
I wonder if you are travelling to Europe or somewhere nearer to Australia? Look forward to finding out.

    1. It sounds like the chill is still in the air of your garden Rosemary, but then you get those wonderful flowers! Will reveal more about the trip a little later on.

    2. Trish, naturally I blogged about my favorite Oscar dresses also! It's in our female DNA. :) You might be happy to know that the two stylish Aussies on your post made my list as well. Beautiful dresses. Margot Robbie is beautiful in an old Hollywood sense with her symmetrical features, as well as, her blond hair and blue eyes. She looks great in everything, plus has a good-eye for fashion.

I love Cobalt blue true. If I were to have a glown tailor-made as the stars do, I'd have to have it as the color.

    3. Well done to the Aussie girls. I think Cobalt blue would suit you, and would suit me as well. We will have to order a gown like Nicole's, lol

  6. I watched the Oscars as well and was impressed with all these flawless mature women. Helen Mirren was so elegantly classy and did you catch Eva Marie Saint? And she is 93! Unreal.

  7. I did see Eva Marie Saint, and she was amazing. How beautiful she looked, and spoke too. It is great to see the mature women out there so elegant and active. xo

  8. I didn't see any coverage of the Oscar dresses so am pleased to have a peek at them here. I did watch the endless black that was the Bafta's.
Clever Helen Mirren not to compete with anything over the top but to go for simple elegance.

    1. Clever Helen indeed, such elegance, but with the most fabulous diamond necklace! She is a class act, as they say, no wonder she played The Queen.

  9. Hi Patricia...
Sorry I have been neglectful of blogging...
Always love to see your posts...
Isn’t Helen Mirren so cool? How old is she...I am 68...wish I had her skin!
    Cheers!

    1. Hi Linda, I looked up Helen Mirren and she is 72, older than me as well. Oh to look that good!! What a figure. You are having a great time at the beach - loving your Barbie pics, he he.

  10. Good point re Nicole...the gown certainly does look constricted. Surely not old-fashioned corsetry?? Oh dear...

  11. I always feel exhausted in humid weather. Is that Little Aussie's coloured picture? It's very good!

    1. Me too! I struggle along the path on my daily walk, and the bad news is the extra effort in the humidity does not pay off in any more fitness levels :(
And yes, Little Aussie made the bunny pic. I think he is quite good too, after making a late start on drawing. Good for him.
