WE'VE GOT YELLOW!

Today I went with my yellow silk Paris scarf

and vintage beads from the old Antique Centre...

stashed my X-rays in this yellow straw tote, which owes me nothing:
$2.00 at a Cheape Shoppe years ago..
(Just having a few tests)

and the Cambridges arrived in Australia.

At Admiralty House, Sydney, with the Governor of New South Wales, Marie Bashir...

His Royal Cuteness wore another sweet shirt, smocked with sailing ships.

Yes, I love Kate's yellow dress 110%, and wondered why not the Queen's Wattle Brooch - is it being saved for another yellow look?

Remember the red maple leaf hat in Canada?

The fern hat in New Zealand?

Could there be a wattle hat for us??

Just wonderin...

Organised for Easter yet?

    1. Enjoy your Easter break, Rosemary. Yellow seems the perfect colour for a sunny Australian Easter. We'll be popping off for a little break next week.

  2. There must be great excitement in Australia with the royals visiting. That George is absolutely adorable, and I'm sure he steals the show everywhere he goes. :-)

    1. Yellow is the best colour, in every way. The baby will make one more public appearance, and no doubt he will triumph again! Have a wonderful Easter, Jennifer.

  4. This really is a yellow time of year and many farmers fields here in the UK are covered in oil seed rape which is just so colourful. Kate's dress today looked gorgeous didn't it. Hope your tests are all okay. Thinking of you.

  5. Hope that the tests are alright and that you enjoy your few days away. I expect that Kate will wear the wattle brooch as she wore the Queens fern brooch in NZ - she just hasn't got to it yet!! Happy Easter. xx

    2. An early Happy Easter, Patricia.

How beautiful is the color yellow in nature. So vivid! Nothing man-made can match it! I've never seen a yellow bird, ever. Luckily, I've seen blue jays and red cardinals.

  6. Love your yellow post. Kate must be planning to wear that yellow wattle brooch sometime during her visit. The canola fields are in bloom here and that's the brightest yellow I've ever seen. I must try to get a photo on my blog soon.

    1. Oh, yes, you must do a photo of the canola fields, as they are the most brilliant crop I've ever seen. So photogenic! Kate has gone to the Blue Mountains today, wearing blue.. she likes to dress symbolically, just like the Queen. Happy Easter, Sanda.

  7. I don't profess to be an expert on Sydney but I'm sure that photo taken at Kirribilli has been flipped horizontally. Kirribilli is on the North shore of the harbour and East of the bridge. Does anyone else think that the background in the photo looks a bit peculiar?

    1. I'm not sure, now you mention it. The towers to the right could be North Sydney, in which case it would be correctly positioned. Of course as the Opera House is just out of the picture, I can't really say.

  8. How fresh the bits of yellow look in your part of the world - starting from the white bird and ending up with the egg!
It seems that Kate and her small family has really captured your heart in a good way: )!

    1. Yellow matches our sunshine very well indeed Mette. No wonder it is one of the national colours. The naughty cockatoo came just when I needed a touch of yellow for the blog, so he had his portrait taken. We love a bit of royal action in Australia - we are a long way from Europe and North America so it is fun to have famous visitors! Media are saying Prince George is killing off the Republican movement. Happy Easter to you and your lovely family Mette.

  9. Lovely yellow post, Patricia! I love the colour but it doesn't suit me anymore (used to when my hair was dark). Kate looks beautiful, doesn't she? And I very much like your scarf and bag too.Easter is coming, so what could be more fitting than yellow daisies and yellow eggs. A gorgeous theme throughout!

    1. Thank you Val, I love yellow, and of course it was a complete coincidence that I went out with yellow accessories, and 3 or 4 hours later Kate arrived in that brilliant yellow dress! Happy Easter to you, Val.
