EASTER AT THE BEACH

Well, Easter has come and gone,
and I hope you all had a blessed and special time.

We two cardinals flew off to a beach for three days...

Do you love the smell of the salt sea air?

the passing boats...and lifeguards?

the gentle roar of the surf...?

the rock pools..

The fish...

Fish art

We dined on fish and chips, and lovely Queensland grilled barramundi..

More fish art

It is possible I had a slice of cherry pie..

My Easter bonnet, er, sun hat.

Our view was gorgeous...

and when we came home, the first pansies of the Autumn have bloomed..
Sunshine is gentle again, and the plants love it.

Our roses are covered in buds after the recent rains.

Life is good.

What did you do over the Easter weekend?

  2. Hello Patricia,

What a delightful escape to the beach. Your images capture the sunshine and I can smell the salt air. And that pie is very tempting.

  3. Thanks for taking us along, Trish! Love seeing your beautiful country! Was it a delicious piece of cherry pie? Sometimes a hit or miss in my experience. It must be a hard one to balance the sweet and tartiness.

    Enjoy the beach,
    Debbie

    1. Yes, short trip, back home quickly, but it is nice to have a break. Cherry pie is not something I grew up with in Australia, but it has started to appear around the cafes now. I need to try more, just to check out the sweet/tart combinations :)

  6. That cherry pie looks soooo good, Patricia. You and Jess both enjoyed the beach at Easter time. You know, I have that same pink sea shell in the first picture. I've had it since I was little. Your yellow Easter hat is delightful.

Yes, life is good, my dear.

  8. Oh wow Trish! Looks like it was a perfect beach retreat. ;) I just wanted to jump in every photo!! There is nothing more therapeutic than the sound of waves, is there? I love the works of art too. Looked like a really cool place. And I really loved your sunshiny "Easter bonnet" Lol
    Thanks for sharing Lovie!

    1. Totally therapeutic Carrie. A few days by the beach is so good for us. I was so amused by the fish art, and that a sign was needed to keep people behaving themselves. Yellow hats are so Queensland - can't imagine taking it to a snowy climate.
