SYDNEY DAY 2

While in Sydney - we went to Bondi Beach...

and joined the throngs to see Sculpture by the Sea -

as thousands of people walked the path along the cliff-face..

art and nature ..

I loved the pieces which interact with their environment..

Back home again, in the Red Cardinal Garden - can you see the birdie?

Take care XXX

  1. What a great outdoor exhibit. I would like to have seen the art in place but not sure I could have faced the crowd. That first sculpture is stunning.

    1. I thought the first one really lovely too, Darla. The exhibition went on for a very long way, much more than I have shown, with crowds the whole length.

  2. That Sculpture by the Sea event looks like it was very interesting. I'm not sure i would have had the patience to be in that crowd of people though

    1. Actually, the crowd was quite good, and everyone made way for each other and generally cooperated. It did look like a line of ants in the distance.

    1. Actually it was the first time I had seen it too, Patricia, and I found it all very charming. The exhibition went a long way past several bays and beaches.

  6. wow, that Sculpture by the Sea is very impressive, Patricia. Outdoor art is something the French do very well too, even in very rural areas liker ours, surprisingly.

PS With my brand-new lens I can see the birdie very well. :-)

    1. French outdoor art sounds most appealing, Perpetua, like everything else in that beautiful country. Glad your new lens is working perfectly. Continued good health to you and Happy weekend!

  7. I love this concept, Patricia! Seeing art in a natural context is very special. A lovely way to exhibit some pieces that might have lost their impact if they had been in a gallery.

    1. Hello Val, yes, the setting brought an extra special dimension to many of these sculptures, while also drawing our attention to the beauty and sculptural qualities of many of the rocks and cliffs: designed by Nature!

  8. Patricia,
That cliff face is something else! I would have loved to seen that. Sydney is so beautiful, and you captured many interesting pictures of this special place. Bondi Beach looks very peaceful.

Have a blessed weekend, my friend.

  9. Patricia, off topic but I couldn't resist sending you this link (below) to cross stitched Red Cardinals. The directions are in French but pretty easy to figure out from just looking.

    1. Dear Darla, thank you sooooo much for this link, and of course I love this to bits! If I can find a piece of aida cloth in the stash I will start stitching tonight....and to my surprise, I discovered I could actually read and understand the comments with my very basic French. Fun :)
