TRAVEL: THE WARDROBE

Well, here it is, the first assembly of my travel wardrobe:

Lots of neutrals, with a bit of yellow thrown around.
I tend to work in threes:

3 pants = indigo jeans, black ponte knit and grey stretch pants for travel.
3 wool knits = black cardi, black sweater, stone cardi.
3 dresses = Mondrian, crown party dress, jersey print in neutrals;

or fours:

4 long or 3/4 sleeve Ts = black, grey, green/navy, black/neutral.
4 short sleeve Ts = black, navy, white/blue, and Spanish painting yellow fruit!

One nautical stripe knit pencil skirt.
One yellow knit jacket.
One grey wool pashmina with faux fur edge.

and lots of scarves in various colour combinations.

Shoes: Mary Janes, taupe suede heels, black flats.

I will also throw in a black tank top, casual house pants, small clutch purse, and a black shirt I wear for travel.

It all looks a bit stripey, a lot neutral, and could do with a hit of PINK!!

Thinking, thinking...........

Maybe I need a pretty roses floral in there somewhere...

Have a great weekend!

  1. How about a nice string of bright pink beads or shocking pink scarf? I must say you are very efficient and well organised.

    1. Perfect idea, Rosemary, and I went right in and found my 2 strings of pink beads, a pink scarf, and threw in some jellybean pink earrings for good measure! Done!

  2. Keeping it simple as you have is much the best way, Patricia. As a total non-fashion person, I reckon you have as many clothes on that bed as I have in my wardrobe. :-))

    1. Simple maths is the only way I can do it, Perpetua, or I just get confused. To be honest, that is just about all I have in the wardrobe that fits now, as have recently lost weight. I was thinking I could probably live with just this lot for a while, but eventually I would become bored!

Maybe you could add something to your wardrobe on your travels.. something pink.
I like Rosemary's idea of a shocking pink scarf.. I have one and it goes with a lot of things.
    happy weekend Patricia..

The shocking pink scarf is now IN,plus assorted beads.
And I like the idea of adding as I go.
      All a lot of fun.

  4. Looks like you are ready to me. I do think you should squeeze in a floral dress if you can. Spring is here - well, it is some days.

    1. Darla, you are right. Ottawa temp shot up to 27 deg. yesterday, so a slight revision is now happening. I think I'll squeeze in a summer floral, sandals, capri pants and a cool top. That should cover EVERY possibility!

  5. Yellow is fun and fashionable, but I'll always love pink. Here's guessing something pink will pop into my hands along the way! Souvenirs are good. xx

  6. Your wardrobe looks perfect. And if you don't bring too many accessories, you have an excuse to pick up a little necklace or scarf to freshen up. Plus you have useful souvenirs.

    1. Yes, am finally getting excited. For some reason I was suppressing it until now (superstitious?) but have been in my fave shoe shop at Kenmore, and my big smile was noticed! xxx
