SUNDAY IN THE HINTERLAND

My father will be 92 in a few weeks.
He must feel as old as good old Mount Lindsay, the highest peak in the MacPherson Range along the Queensland/New South Wales border.
Looks like a resting lion, doesn't it ...

We all enjoyed the country scenery ..

 and the mountains ...

The creeks were lined with Silky Oak trees ...

and we passed an art installation, a daft piece of Australian Country Conceptual Art:

aka, a red car hanging from a tree in a cow pasture!

Somebody is going to sleep well tonight!

Hope the weather remains calm,
and you all have a lovely week.

  2. Do congratulate your father for me from Finland on his special day!
The scenery is so totally different than what I´m used to seeing, so special.
Is there shade/ shelter for the animals, when the weather gets really hot?
In my dreams - I´ll visit Australia!

    1. I will pass on all congratulations from Blogland - he will love that!
The cows and horses tend to shelter under trees, and clusters of trees are left in the pastures for this purpose. Cows like being near creeks too in hot weather.
Hope you visit Australia one day, and I hope I visit Helsinki!

  3. 92 - that's wonderful! That's beautiful scenery, I could look at mountains all day because where I live, there aren't any!

  4. 92 not out - he surprises us all! Paddock art is pretty fun, and startles the driving public.

  5. What nice photos of the countryside you have shown us today! Was this along the way to where you drove to see your dad? Wishing him a very happy birthday on his 92nd. Is he still quite mentally alert? Have a lovely week, Patricia!

    1. My Dad lives in a country town, and after picking him up from his aged care facility we drove another 45 minutes to this area with dairy farms and mountain views. It is very pretty country. After an icecream stop on the way back, Dad was very pleased with the outing. Mentally he is bright and alert, but illogical and paranoid with it at times. His long-term memory and knowledge is very good, short-term almost non-existent. This makes for some very interesting conversations!

  6. satta king The quality of your articles matters, even if article marketing is only a way to get more back-links. If you write well, not only will you get backlinks, but you will get traffic and sales. Play Bazar It's the best of both worlds.
