A FLORAL FEAST & OTHER GOOD STUFF

My two favourite roses came back into bloom this week,
the Yellow and the Pink.  I don't know their names;
they were like that when we got here!

Nothing says Spring like a pretty rose in crystal ...

except perhaps little pansies nodding in the breeze.

Our local plant nursery is a veritable feast of Spring blooms ..

and runs to a hilarious collection of kitsch statuary!

Hello David - Michaelangelo would turn in his grave!

On the When You're Onto a Good Thing basis,
I bought more pots of pansies for the deck.
I have a little garden competition with myself every year,
in which I try to keep pansies blooming in our scorching heat right up until Christmas.  Most years I fail.

Are you enjoying watching Kate's tour outfits?
I think it is all beautifully thought out - Kate-style with a touch of the orient for Malaysia.

I like this dress, with its unusual lace overlay.
Can't wait to see what she wears in the Solomon Islands.

Meantime, back in the Cardinal nest, I am giving Pastels a whirl:
made some pale yellow sateen pants this week to line up with a mint green scarf and bracelet.

Happy Sunday

    1. You know, I like statues in the garden too, but these were SO badly made; I was disappointed because I became excited when I saw them from a distance and was already planning an installation among the roses!
Sewing a floral dress today :))

  2. How lovely all this is! I love the roses, the pansies (I have trouble keeping them going until Christmas, for different reasons LOL), the pretty china and all the dear DoCs super holiday outfits. She is always so elegant.

Love your pastel outfit too - a bit Jackie O-ish perhaps? V. stylish! xxx

  3. Love the new pants! I like it when other people sew, too.
So nice to know there are others who don't know all their flowers by name.

    1. There are lots of nameless plants around here Beryl ... they go by names such as The Round Tree, the Naughty Vine, Yellow Flower bush etc ... we are pretty hopeless with names. Happy sewing to you!

  5. It is extremely difficult to imagine someone entering spring and summer, as we are moving towards the cold season, which is going to be l o n g .
However, pictures of colorful flowers always somewhere in the blogosphere do cheer my mind.
    Your´s are very pretty.

    1. Thanks Mette - we have the topsy-turvy seasons fixed in our minds, due to having our daughter in Canada. No doubt they will be raking leaves very soon. Love how the blogosphere makes the world a village :))

  6. I agree with Beryl...I like it when others also don't know the specific names of plants because I'm hopeless at remembering them.
A little bit of rain last night but not enough! We need more...
