HOLIDAY WITH GRANNIE & GRAMPS

We returned from the airport to find a weary Ted face down on the stove.
Like we Red Cardinals, he was tired and emotional after the wondrous visit of
our Dear Daughter, her husband, and our Canadian grandson, the fabulous Petite Garcon...

It all went much too fast, but the memories are wonderful:

PG is mighty fond of an engine - any engine -
and loved the Ipswich Railway Workshop Museum ..

where he tried his hand as the Man in Charge of a train.

At the local Zoo, he fed the lorikeets.
Yes, we do it at home, but we don't have this fancy schmanzy feed holder.
Excellent fun.

Then there was the Koala holding experience.
He's not unhappy, just being Very, Very, Careful!
And very proud of himself afterwards ..

He loved the bird visits every morning, eating his breakfast on the deck and chatting to them.
He named this one Rocky Cocky - that name will stick.

Underwater World, to see a Shark!
Likes his monsters, does PG ..

And - ta dum - first ever sight of the beach by the ocean.
Ottawa is a long way from the sea.

Gosh it's quiet round here today..

Have a great week

xxx

  1. A lovely post Patricia and I'm so happy for you that the family came to visit.
Oh yes I do bet it is quiet at your place. Little children do make a home so lively.

  2. Wonderful photos Patricia,
Photos to look back on, when Petit Garçon is older.
He must have been so amazed to see all the Australian wild life. Especially the parrots and perikeets on your verandah.
Its just marvelous to have our grandchildren around.
    happy weekend

  3. Thankyou Val, there are of course hundreds of photos of their visit. His mother printed some and made him a little album of highlights, to read on the plane home. He was indeed amazed by Australia ;) xx

  5. It must be a bit sad to see them go - you'll have to plan their next visit, or visit them. How fab to be at your grandson's first excursion to the beach - he must have thought it was wonderful! He'll have so much to talk about when he gets home, I bet he can't wait to come back! xxx

  6. From the look on his face, I'll bet he comes back on his own when he's done with school. (The pictures of his visit makes me want to visit.)

  9. Thank you for sharing the lovely pictures Patricia.
Your grandson is a great boy.
Oh, all those " exotic " animals..wish I had visited Australia.
In sympathy with your feelings right now after the leave.
Are you planning to visit Canada in the future to see him in his own element?

    1. Thank you Mette, it was a lovely time with family. We cancelled a Canada trip this year when I was hospitalised; hope to try again in the northern Spring of 2013. I would like to see some Canadian animals like a moose or a beaver.

  10. What an extraordinary time he must have had with the beach and all those animals ; even I have never seen koalas or kangaroos up close ! One of my best friends has her only daughter living in Canada with her husband and two babies. Every time they leave, it's a wrench. You must miss them and they must miss you !xx
