WET AND COOL

It has been unseasonally cool and wet this weekend - and I love it!
The lorikeets were less than impressed, and sat miserably on our
verandah railing.
They might feel bad, but they look adorable,
especially when they preen one another.

The plants are loving the rain, too ...

Michelle has been a bit quiet lately, but emerged this week in a very cute cardi and red dress combination...

and Kate and William were out and about too.
Love this dress, with turquoise beading, and an interesting back:

Happy Anniversary to you!

In my previous post about Anzac Day, I mentioned visiting a museum in Flanders where we saw battle trenches, preserved after World War I.

It is called Sanctuary Wood Museum (Hill 62), near Ypres, Belgium.
Here is a link for anyone who is interested in visiting:

Hope the new week is Excellent for you!

  1. Poor Lorikeets - they look so sad - I hope the sun comes back for them soon. If you haven't got it, and it certainly isn't here in the northern hemisphere, where on earth has the sun gone?

I loved that dress of Kate's too - so pretty! Hope you are getting on okay - have you any improvement in your arm? xxx

    1. Well, the sun has returned from wherever it went - and the birds are singing once more. Perfect Autumn day here in Brisbane.
Yes, thankyou for asking, my arm is improving and I have learnt that the shoulder is the actual problem, and needs to be freed up from its surgical interference. There is more exercising going on around here than has been seen in many a day :) xxx

I hope that you are in good health and enjoying 1st of May.
Its cold here today, and mr sun doesnt seem to want to show his head.
I am in love with the lorikeets.. are they yours..or do they just sit there! (dumb question)
I know they live in the trees around in Australia.

    1. Not dumb Val, a good question: the lorikeets are wild but they seem to own us! One pair come every day and are quite tame, and there are others who also visit to eat, but fly away if we go too close. They call out to us if they are particularly hungry, but we don't feed them every day. Happy May Day!

I visited your blog today - I saw you on 'Rustic Vintage Country.' Your blog is lovely, and I really like the red cardinal on here. Your pictures are colorful and full of life! Me and my daughters started a blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you. Your blog is filled with simplicity, and it is very cheerful to me. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
