THRILLING MUSIC AND BLOGGING DISASTER

My primitive Christmas angel choristors and I were thrilled when
the winner of ABC Classic FM's
Classic 100 of the 20th Century countdown
was - ta dum -
Cello Concerto in E minor Op. 85, by Edward Elgar;
my all-time favourite, as made famous by the glorious and gifted
Jacqueline du Pre way back when.

Also near the top were some of my other faves,
Rachmaninov's Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 3,
Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue
and Copland's Appalachian Spring and Fanfare for the Common Man.

It has been such a wonderful feast of listening magic all week.

Which is just as well, as the Red Cardinal blog has been having a difficult time of it
with the new Blogger, and for a while there I thought it has disappeared into a black hole
somewhere in the universe, never to be seen again.
However, with the generous assistance of our Sydneysider Son,
peace and the blog have been restored.
Like many things, I did not realise how addicted I was to the blogging concept
until I realised I could no longer do it!

I love gardenias; so Chanel-like.
Despite the odd bit of rain, the dry conditions continue,
but the Garden of Neglect has produced a bunch of these beauties.
They must enjoy harsh living.

I like flowers on the walls too.
The other day we went to a local art show, raising funds for
SHELTER, a charity which provides warmth, shelter and dignity for families affected by disasters.
This bright and cheerful watercolour study of bright pink daisies
has come to hang out with us.

Since when did Petunias become climbers??
This one is self-sewn, in a crack between wall and concrete,
and now has taken off up the drainpipe!!
Mind of its own, this one.

Happy Sunday!

  1. What would we do Patricia if not for our tech savvy offspring who come to our rescue!
I'm too scared to go anywhere near that new blogger gizmo or whatever it is.

  2. Hello Annie,
Yes, it was the temptation of the new Blogger thingy which led to my downfall. I clicked on to the Pandora's Box, the blog went into freefall, and I COULD NOT return to dashboard, NO MATTER HOW OR WHAT I TRIED!!
Being Mum's Computer, mine is not often brought up to date with the latest, and it was only after techno son installed an updated whatzy that it worked again.
